Specialists

All disciplinary action will be determined on a case-by-case basis.  The discipline imposed will depend upon, but not be limited to, the seriousness of the performance/behavioral issues and the impact on the University.

  • Step 1:  Verbal warning
  • Step 2:  Written reprimand
  • Step 3:   Suspension  Final written warning and/or suspension without pay/final written warning
  • Step 4:  Termination of employment

Because some performance/behavioral issues warrant skipping steps in the process, the University reserves the right to immediately terminate an employee or skip any step(s) in the progressive discipline process.

Representatives

If you present a severe disciplinary problem by refusing to perform your job duties, leaving during your shift or causing any other disciplinary related problem, you may be sent home by Leadership, Specialist or a Representative Supervisor.  You will then be contacted by a Manager leadership to discuss the situation and inform you of any disciplinary actions that may be taken against you.

There are certain actions that will result in your automatic dismissal. They  They are:

  • Purposely trying to deceive your superiors, for example, clocking in while not at the CSC or leaving work during a shift without permission.
  • Purposely disobeying or ignoring a request made by a Representative Supervisor or Specialist.  If you see a problem in a request, please perform the request, or leave work and notify a Manager leadership of your disagreement.
  • Having alcohol or drugs in the office, or being under the influence of any of these products in the CSC.
  • Misusing, abusing or stealing office equipment.
  • Verbal, Sexualsexual, or Physical Harassmentphysical harassment.
  • Sharing any internal information with people outside of the CSC.

If you are contacted by a Manager leadership regarding any disciplinary questions or problems, you must respond in a timely and appropriate manner.

Resigning Your Position

If you wish to resign your position, you should follow the following procedures:

  • Give a written 2-week notice to a member of the Management leadership team. You  You can do this by giving them a written note in person.  You should include in that notice the forwarding address where your final paycheck can be sent, if necessary.  Once you have turned in your notice, you are expected to work your shifts for your final 2 weeks.
  • When your 2 weeks are completed, you should turn in your final timecard and name badge to a Managerleadership.
  • Empty the contents of your assigned drawer.

Failure to turn in a 2-week notice and/or failure to show up to work during your final 2 weeks will result in a negative referral should you decide to use ITaP as a reference for future employers – and you will not be eligible to work as a Rep in the CSC in the future. If you  Reps that resign during the final 4 weeks of the semester, you will not be allowed to return to work as a Rep in the future.
