Mapping a Network drive on a PC:

  1. Go to 'My Computer' in your file explorer it may be listed differently on newer machines, most commonly
    1. "This PC"
    2. the name of the computer
  2. Click <Computer> at the top menu, and then <Map Network Drive>
  3. On the Map Network Drive Dialog box, select a drive letter that makes sense
  4. But the server/drive path into the folder field
    Ex. To connect to your W drive use: \\nas01.itap.purdue.edu\puhome
    Ex. (INTERNAL) to connect to the CSC department shared drive O use: \\nas01.itap.purdue.edu\itap_call_center\ITCSCallCenter

  5. If you're connecting from a non-Domain computer (a computer not owned by Purdue), check the "Connect using different credentials" box
  6. Remember, if prompted for credentials use boilerad\ before the username if you're on a non-Domain computer, and your career account password

Mapping a Network drive on a Mac:

  1. Go to the Desktop
  2. Open the "Connect to Server" dialog box,
    1. Either click <Go> and then <Connect to Server> from the top of screen menus
    2. or, press 'COMMAND + K' on the keyboard
  3. Type in the server address
    NOTE: On Mac's the slashes go the other way
    Ex. To connect to your W drive use: smb//nas01.itap.purdue.edu/puhome
    Ex. (INTERNAL) to connect to the CSC department shared drive O use: smb//nas01.itap.purdue.edu/tap_call_center/ITCSCallCenter
