Boilerplate email to research visitors from sponsoring staff member
Info | ||

| ||
This email details important protocols for your upcoming research-related visit to Purdue’s campus. Please review this email, the appropriate links, and return the attached checklist (a pre-filled version of that linked at the bottom) to me prior to your visit. I will be your campus contact/sponsor for the visit, so if that information is requested you can use my name and email. Please be aware that the state of Indiana (link, and link), the city of West Lafayette (link), and Purdue University (link) all have mask mandates that will be in effect for the duration of your visit. If we will be spending >15 minutes closer than 6 feet over the course of the visit, I will need to wear a face shield as a Purdue employee. Please let me know if you would like one as well, and I will ensure it can be provided for you.
Please complete the attached Purdue Research-Related Campus Visitor Safety Checklist and return it to me. |

From parking lot to cleanroom
- Meet visitor(s) in the Discovery Park Parking Lot, provide them with level 1 surgical masks.
- Escort into BNC, though back staircase entrance.
- Use hand sanitizer on hand.
- Wipe down phones with 2% Hydrogen Peroxide spray on cleanroom wipe.
- Get safety goggles for use in labs or cleanroom, if needed.
- Bring to second floor bathroom for pre-cleanroom bathroom break.
- Proceed to cleanroom aisle to wipe down any large items, move them into blowdown room.
- Complete pre-gowning, with sponsor demonstrating first, then visitor(s), one at a time.
- Sponsor checks video monitor and ensures gowning room is empty. Explains procedure for entrance (one at a time into air shower, hands up, turn around 3 times, then enter and wait). Swipes ID card and holds open, allowing visitors to enter one by one. Sponsor enters last.
- Wedge open door inner door between gowning and pre-gowning to ensure no others can enter the gowning room. Throughout gowning time, sponsor will motion to any trying to exit cleanroom to wait.
- Sponsor collects gowning garments for visitors, including M3 masks.
- Sponsor instructs visitor(s) in how to safely remove their mask, put that mask in their pocket, and don the M3 masks. Sponsor is wearing M3 mask after this, and uses hand sanitizer.
- Visitor(s) don M3 masks, one by one. Sponsor offers hand sanitizer to visitor(s) immediately after M3 mask donning.
- Sponsor and visitor(s) gown up and glove up.
- Sponsor and visitor(s) wipe down any items with 10% IPA on cleanroom wipe to remove particles.
- Sponsor instructs visitor(s) to enter cleanroom air shower into cleanroom (one at a time into air shower, hands up, turn around 3 times, then enter and wait), and wait by entrance door, keeping >6 ft distance from any BNC personnel.
- Sponsor allows door from pre-gowning to close, then enters the air shower/cleanroom.
- Sponsor directs visitor(s) to cleanroom visit area, ensuring 6 feet of distancing between visitor(s) and any other users throughout the visit. Sponsor dons face shield if visit will require >15 minutes at a distance of <6 ft.
