AgIT Printer - WINDOWS instructions

From: Daniel Newman

TLDR: Connect to the internet, connect to Ag VPN, then copy and paste the printer path into File Explorer and use “boilerad\username” to log in.

Here are the steps for adding an AgIT printer on a personal Windows computer:

  1. Log in to your computer and verify that you are connected to the internet (skip to step 7 if you are on PAL3.0 wireless network)
  2. Open your web browser and go to “webvpn.purdue.edu” (NOTE: If you already have AnyConnect VPN installed, run the program and skip to step 5)
  3. Follow the steps to download and install Cisco AnyConnect VPN
NOTE: If the automatic installer fails, just click the link to download the Cisco AnyConnect installer and run it manually. Either way, admin access will be required for the installation.
  4. Follow the prompts to install Cisco AnyConnect. After it has finished, run the application from the Start Menu (it should be listed on the recent programs, programs list, or type it in the search bar)
  5. Copy and paste the following address (case-sensitive) into the blank box, then click “Connect”: https://webvpn.purdue.edu/Ag-General
  6. Type your Purdue username and BoilerKey passphrase (PIN,push). Personal machines may require “boilerad\username”.
  7. After it finishes loading, you should be connected to the AgIT network. Navigate to any window in file explorer (such as the local documents or downloads folder), then type (or copy/paste) the following in the address bar:

\\wpvapppcag02.itap.purdue.edu\

OR for Multifunction printers (MFP):

\\wpvapppcag03.itap.purdue.edu\

NOTE: This will NOT work in a web browser, only a file explorer window. When it asks for your username, use the following with your standard career account password (not BoilerKey passphrase):

boilerad\username

Now you can see a list of printers. Look for the one you want (names are based on building and room number), then double-click the icon. It should connect to the printer and install the driver, after which you will see a white window that is the print queue. You will also need to be connected to VPN (or PAL3.0) every time you need to print. Let me know if you are able to get it working!
