(checked 12-15-23)Clearing File Explorer Cache

(I'm assuming this is mostly for ESS machines, so I'm moving it under ESS Documentation)

Input ‘Control’ in the Windows 10 Cortana search box, opened by clicking the Start menu.

As shown above, click ‘Control Panel’ from the Best Match result.

Make sure the ‘View by:’ option is on Large or Small icons rather than Category. By default, the display will be set to Category, and the necessary option will not be visible.

NOTE: This is the incorrect view; note how it does not have Large or Small icons selected.

NOTE: This is the correct view; note how it has several hidden options now made available with the Large icons display selected.

Find ‘File Explorer Options’ from the interface and click on it.

Click ‘Clear’.

Click ‘OK’ to clear File Explorer history.
