6/7/21 - Per IAMO, users should no long send these requests to accounts@purdue.edu, they should be routed through the CSC, then assigned to the IAMO team in Footprints


Use this customer note when responding to a ticket where a user has requested that their Alias and Email be changed
NOTE: This is NOT the process if they are just trying to set up a 'vanity' email address.

Thank you for contacting ITaP Customer Service Center. I can’t guarantee the change will be approved, but you can request a full alias change by filling out a Form 10.

This form can be submitted digitally to accounts@purdue.edu with two forms of ID included (see attached document).

If submitting digitally, you will need to fill out the form, scan it and two pieces of ID. Send an email to accounts@purdue.edu detailing your request, and with all three documents attached.
Your PUID card and a government issued ID are the most common forms of ID submitted.

This will create a ticket with the accounts team, please direct any further communications regarding this request in response to that new ticket rather than this one.


When filling out the form:

  • Account Information (top grey box): Fill out current login (alias), PUID, and put a check in the 'All Purdue Accounts' box.


  • Login Change: Carefully read over bullet points for information on changing account information. Check the box for the reason for the account change with a written explanation. Please provide three alias choices that are 3-8 characters in length. The alias choice can contain only letters and numbers and MUST be based on your name. (John Bob Smith could request 'john', 'john123', 'smith845', 'smithj', 'bob', etc...)


  • Authorization section (bottom grey box): Include a phone number where you can be reached, a non-Purdue email address so we can maintain contact with you throughout the change, your signature, and the date.

If this request is approved, the change may disrupt your ability to log in to some systems for 72 hours following the account modification. You will be contacted when the change is made, or if there are any additional questions. Please allow 10 business days for this request to be approved.
