Blog from October, 2019

Hey Team,

So we noticed in Xymon that the SharePoint admin group is now called Collaboration (look for them in CMDB under this name). They are in CMDB with the correct number. I updated the IOC log and put them in under "Group". We used to put them in under ITES Messaging and Applications ( which is not a group in CMDB). Just be aware that there is still an entry in CMDB for ITES - Messaging and Collaboration Services.

ITES Messaging and Applications also no longer includes messaging issues. Anything that has to do with Messaging (Justin Commons) should be logged under a new group, "Messaging" . I am trying to make it so that the groups in the IOC log make more sense. If you have trouble searching, finding, or figuring out a group during this adjustment, please let me know.

Collaboration = SharePoint, Collaboration Apps (765) 205-3540 / collaboration@purdue.edu

                          Mick Haberzetle, Vicki Gerber and Brian Lawson

Messaging = Justin Commons group (765) 421-6170 /  itapMessaging@purdue.edu

Just a head's up if you did not see the email thread in the IOC emails. App Admins has a new email the prefer us to start using: ITAP_SLS_APP_ADMIN@groups.purdue.edu

It has not been updated in CMDB yet, as of yesterday or Xymon. I advised the admins to get tat all up to date since that is where we locate out contact inf for admins. In the meantime please try to use this new email. They still see the old one but are working on taking their team off of it.

In Xymon it used to say Enterprise Apps. (Some servers still might say that) But if you see ITAP SLS Admin, that is the same group and this is the new email for them. Same phone number as far as I am aware. I also will be changing their name in the IOC log.

UPDATE:

IT Enterprise Applications & ITES Application Administration have been deleted from the IOC Log groups. These two groups were being used interchangeably. Replacing them with the name:  ITAP SLS APP Admin

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Let me know if there are any questions,

Hey Team,

I have moved the whole Event management section under Knowledge Base here in the wiki. It is titled Event management / IOC Monitoring. Streamlining and categorization are int he works currently. IF you can't find something please reach out. Also the search bar on the main page works well.

Thanks,

Jenn

UDO / PRF IT Support

Good morning,

I’m excited to share that we are making it easier to know where to go for IT support!

The UDO technical team has partnered with the PRF IT team, such that emailing a request to help@prf.org (or going through the support portal, https://helpdesk.prf.org) will reach both the UDO and the PRF IT teams!  We’ll sort out the “who it needs to go to” for you on the backend!

We’re also streamlining internally.  No need to remember multiple email addresses based on your issue type!  Anything previously sent to one of the below addresses, can now simply be sent to help@prf.org / https://helpdesk.prf.org as well!

reeher@prf.org

udosharepoint@prf.org

develop1@prf.org

devreports@prf.org

advdata@prf.org

devwebhelp@lists.purdue.edu

Issues supported by ITaP or your local IT (ECN, AG-IT, CLA-IT) will continue as-is for now.

I’m excited for this change to make it easier for you when seeking technical support.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me directly!
