Request for Contact

Admins will call IOC with a request for us to contact another admin regarding something they might need help with. Here  you will find instructions for this below.

  1. Get name, group and contact information from admin making the request. (Note time they called for logging purposes)
    1. When receiving a request for contact, don't do a transfer (warm or cold) to the requested group. Get the information required in Step 1, end the call with the admin requesting the contact, then proceed to Step 2.
    2. Do not provide the admin requesting contact with the on-call contact information.
  2. Contact the group they requested contact with and give them the information needed to contact requesting group. (Note time for logging purposes)
  3. Send follow up email addressed to both groups involved and the IOC. Sometimes groups will request you give the information to them through email. 
  4. Make log entries regarding the incoming call and the outgoing call. Two separate entries. 

    *searching the IOC log for request for contact will show you examples on how to log. The follow up email will use the standard one we use for all follow up emails but with a tweak. 


Back-up Building Deputy  

IOC will serve as back-up building deputy for the TEL building. For non-urgent or impact-limited facility issues, create a FixIt (https://www.purdue.edu/fix-it/) ticket to request repairs or maintenance. Examples of this would include a nonfunctioning light fixture, increased insect activity, minor plumbing issue, etc. Send email to DCM to inform them that a ticket has been created, and log appropriately.


For more severe or urgent building issues, contact Todd Turner (primary building deputy, 765-496-8214). In the event that Todd cannot be reached, follow the DCM on-call list until someone is contacted. For emergencies that present an imminent threat to safety or facility (fire, extreme flood/water leak, structural damage, etc), contact PU Dispatch at 765-494-8221 (or 911 if life threat), then follow above.


In all cases, if unsure as to whom to contact, nature of issue or remedy, or urgency of issue, contact supervisor on-call (765-496-4272) for assistance.
