Office Equipment
Since these are not your personal computers or workstations, please do not unplug, swap, or in anyway move the equipment around. If you do not like the location of a piece of equipment or think something needs to be swapped, speak with leadership.
All desktops, laptops and peripherals are the property of Purdue University and are not to be removed from the Customer Service Center for any reason. There are certain laptops designated for use in on-campus, work-related meetings. These may leave the CSC but cannot be taken off-campus. Once the meeting has ended, the laptop must be returned to the CSC immediately. Questions about appropriate use should be directed to a manager.
Please do not unplug the mice or keyboards, if you do, or see one unplugged, please plug it back in.
Personal Devices either connected to ITaP machines or external devices should not interfere with work flow or customer interaction. (Phones, PDAs, laptops, USB drives, projectors, iPods, etc.)
No personal laptops are to be used while working.
If you think there is a software, hardware, or operating system issue on an ITaP machine that you are unable to resolve, please submit a ticket and escalate to CSDS.
Do not install any unauthorized software on any office machines. These machines are for work use only and are not to be used for personal recreation. Additional software only slows down the computer, so it is important to limit the software we install on the work computers.
Do not connect to your personal computer via Remote Desktop, VNC, or similar remote access programs.
Do not try to remove stuck disks; please submit an incident to CSDS.
Respect our office furniture. If you are sitting in a chair and the back wobbles or the seat moves up and down in the frame, let a Rep Supervisor or Management know. If you find screws on the ground or around the office, please give them to a Supervisor; many of the chairs are missing screws. Please do not pick at or damage the arm-rests of the chairs. If you see one damaged, please contact a Rep Supervisor or Management and they will have it fixed.
Use only the LCD cleaner and special cleaning cloth found in the supply cabinet for cleaning LCD panels. DO NOT USE paper towels, window cleaners (such as Windex or Ajax), or any other cleaner that contains ammonia, alcohol, or acetate.
