The terms below helps illustrate the phases of employment.

  • Position Management – Creates positions and sets as “ready to hire”.

  • Recruiting - Offer letters, recruitment marketing, job postings, career builder. 
    • NOTE: Internal hires (people who already have a position at Purdue) need to use the link inside SuccessFactors to apply for job openings.

  • Onboarding/Crossboarding –For new hires it is the process of completing the required paperwork, setting up the career account and creating the SuccessFactors profile. 
    • NOTE: For existing employees adding a new position, aka concurrent employment or changing positions, it is the process of creating the entry that Hiring uses to add the position.

  • Hiring – aka MPH – Managed Pending Hire – The process of adding the position to the SuccessFactors Profile. This includes adding the actual position, work schedule and compensation.

  • Employee Data Changes (EDC) – Any change to employee data except for Tax related information and including terminations.

  • Offboarding – The final survey sent to the terminated employee.
