Account Setup Reset
The Account Setup Reset Application grants authorized Purdue IT support staff the ability to issue a career account setup password to an individual so they may set up their Purdue Career Account.
Account Setup Resets can be performed on any active or inactive Purdue account, regardless of their campus attendance (West Lafayette, Fort Wayne, IUPUI, PNW).
Once issued, the setup password is then used by the individual to set up their Purdue Career Account using the Career Account Setup Application.

Instructions for Use
Connect to the Account Tools page located at https://www.purdue.edu/apps/account/Account.
In the "Your Account Tools" section, click on the link for the Account Setup Reset.
NOTE: If you do not see this link, you can request access to this tool at The Purdue Account Setup Reset Application.
The initial page will ask for the PUID and login of the user you are attempting to reset.
You'll need to fill in both fields and click on the link that states you have verified the identity of the person you are resetting.
Once they are filled in, click Continue.
The next screen will provide you a chance to confirm the user that you are resetting is the desired user.
If the user displayed is not the user you want to reset, click on Cancel and start over - otherwise, click on Reset User.
Setting Up a New Password
The system will now display the new career account setup password and the date/time this new password will expire.
You will need to give this information to the person who needs the password reset.
Tell them to visit the website https://www.purdue.edu/apps/account/AccountSetup.
NOTE: This generated password is typically a series of six numbers. It will need to be entered twice; there are four text fields on the screen when the user visits the Account Setup Reset page.
One field is for their PUID, one field is for their birthdate, and the bottom two fields are to enter and then confirm the Account Setup Reset password that has been generated by the Specialist.
After passing that screen, they are presented with a page in which to reset their career account password, along with options to set security questions and to opt into the Purdue alert system.
