2. Lesker E-Beam Vent Chamber to Atmosphere

  1. Read the pressure from the Ion Gauge Controller and record as "Chamber pressure before venting" in the log sheet. Turn the Ion Gauge Controller OFF by pressing the button labeled |ON one time.
  2. Locate the Gate Valve handle, rotate the knob clockwise until the handle feels tight and locks into place.
  3. Locate the Vent valve knob, slowly rotate the knob counter clockwise until the knob stops.  
  4. Venting will take 2-3 minutes.  Venting is complete when a small gap forms between the bell jar and the base.
